Eagles rock in Glenade, County Leitrim is Irelands Highest free standing tower, it's summit is 330 metres above sea level and can be viewed for many miles in all directions.
The tower has been climbed twice, once in 1971 by Craven Potholing Club, we made the second ascent of the tower in Aug 2012 for all the details of this second ascent,
The entire plateau is covered in a very thick carpet of the most luxurious soft bouncy heather it is possible to imagine. The summit views give truly mind blowing panoramas towards Slieve League in County Donegal and over the summit plateau of Arroo mountain directly to the north.
